Production and Fulfillment

Product quality is paramount to ensure customer satisfaction as well as sustainability. To ensure quality, each product goes through the same process of design, testing, production, and fulfillment. Here is a look into our process.

Production

FormTheory products are manufactured in eight production facilities between North America and Europe. Our manufacturing partners have two main goals—ensure the best quality and make production as eco-friendly as possible.

To achieve this, we continuously invest in the newest technologies:

  • Kornit series printers and inks
  • Happy and Tajima embroidery machines
  • MS printers and inks
  • Mimaki inkjet printers

Before products leave the manufacturing facility, they go through a three-part inspection:

  • Our automated software checks graphics for quality before fulfillment and our AI tool evaluates if the image needs any adjustments before printing
  • Specialists check quality while products are being made
  • We run a final quality check after the product is finished

Fulfillment

With our partners, FormTheory has 13 fulfillment centers across the world. Around 81% of orders are delivered in the same region they’re fulfilled. Having fulfillment centers close to our customers is good both for the business and the planet. Strategically located fulfillment centers allow for faster shipping times and lower shipping costs, and it also helps with reducing the CO₂ emissions produced when transporting orders.

In our facilities in North America, we are gradually switching to 90%–100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic packaging for apparel products. As an alternative to virgin plastic bags (or, plastic bags created without any recycled materials), PCR packaging protects products just as well and looks almost identical. Plus, choosing PCR packaging is the right thing to do. When you produce items using recycled materials it saves virgin resources and requires less energy, minimizing the environmental impact plastic has on our planet.
